RETURN / EXCHANGE POLICY

Can I return or exchange an item I have bought on the Blue Velvet boutique web site?

Yes, Blue Velvet operates a flexible return policy within 7 days of delivery. This means that you can return your purchased product for whatever reason you may have as long as it is in a saleable condition. However, you are not able to return clothing items which have been worn.

We strongly advise all customers to check items thoroughly upon delivery before disposing of any original packaging.

Postage for returns is free of charge within the UK for returns and exchanges requested and shipped with the timescales stated below within the Blue Velvet Return /Exchange procedure.

Exchanges are possible subject to product availability, but exchange items can only be dispatched after the returned goods have been received and undergone a quality control check.

Important Note: All items for return or exchange must follow the return/exchange procedure policy detailed below. Please note that unidentified returns/exchanges may be returned to the sender.

What is the Blue Velvet Return /Exchange procedure?

A Return Item Authorisation (RIA) number must be requested from Blue Velvet within 7 days of receiving the order by the customer.

RIA numbers can be obtained by emailing us at returns@bluevelvetboutique.co.uk . Once you have received your RIA number, please take care to follow the instructions emailed to you and detailed below. Please note that unidentified returns/exchanges may be returned to the sender.

We request that all goods being returned from within the UK are returned within 7 days of issuing your RIA number by using Royal mail Special delivery service. Please note that we do not accept liability for returned goods if you do not return them to us via Royal mail special delivery service.

Postage for returns and exchanges made within the above mentioned timeframes is free of charge within the UK.

Returns and exchanges received outside the above time frames are accepted at the discretion of Blue Velvet and will be at the customers cost for shipping and refunded only as a store credit.

Receiving a Refund

In case of a return, refunds to you will be made within 15 days of the date of return of the item. All undamaged, correctly returned products will be credited to the original purchaser's credit card including sales taxes.

Alternatively, you can request a Blue Velvet store credit that can be used against future purchase at the Blue Velvet Boutique

What do I do if I receive a faulty or damaged item

Faulty items will only be accepted if the goods are delivered to the customer damaged or there is a subsequent manufacturing fault within a period of 3 months after delivery. All items returned as faulty will be inspected and any items deemed to subject to fair wear and tear will not be accepted as faulty.

You then have the three following choices:

  1. Have your item exchanged. We can only exchange faulty items for the same item subject to availability.
  2. Where possible have your item repaired only where such items are deemed faulty and repairable. Repairs do not come with any guarantees.
  3. If neither of the above were possible, you can then be refunded or request for a store credit.

For return of faulty items you must obtain a Return Item Authorization (RIA) number by emailing us at returns@bluevelvetboutique.com and follow the standard returns process as detailed above. Pleas refer to What is the Blue Velvet Return /Exchange procedure?

Can a gift bought for a third party be returned or exchanged?

If you have received an item from Blue Velvet as a gift you can return it for an exchange or a store credit. Please e-mail us at info@bluevelvetboutique.co.uk or call us on +44 (0) 20 7589 0738 to arrange an exchange for the product. Please be aware that you will be charged for any difference in cost.
